2 Input DMX Merger - Technical Specification
·
the merger
circuit board draws less than 200ma @12VDC with 2 inputs present. The merger
has an on board 5V regulator and can operate from 8-12VDC.
·
all circuit board
input/output and power connections are by screw terminals.
·
All major circuit
board components are socketed for easy field service.
·
the merger has
2 DMX inputs that are merged by
software on a Highest Takes Precedence (HTP) basis into one DMX output.
·
the data rate of
the merger DMX output is always the maximum allowable data rate.
·
both inputs DMX1
and DMX2 are terminated with a 100 Ohm SMT resistor.
·
upon loss of data
at both inputs the merger output is held at MARK per the DMX standard for an
idle DMX line.
·
the merger will
transmit the start code received at DMX1 or DMX2 (can be other than “0” ). When merging 2 inputs the start code byte is
treated as regular data and is transmitted HTP. Note: the expected start code is “0”.
·
the merger will
transmit the maximum number of channels present at the inputs. If the 2 inputs have a different number of
channels, then the input having the lowest channel count are merged HTP with
the input having the most channels on a 1:1 basis and the remaining channels
are transmitted un-modified.
·
if data is
suddenly lost at either input when merging 2 inputs, then the other input takes
over instantly with no break in the DMX output stream. When operating either input DMX1 or DMX2
alone, the DMX output data is transmitted un-modified.
·
the merger can
handle DMX packets containing any number of channels up to a full 512 channels
at either input.
NEW: -custom
software is available for the DMX merger including chases (up to 512 different
chases/effects possible) CALL.
